As part of the parliamentary and municipal elections this year in Togo, voter registration will resume inside the country after the adjournment of the operation.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) announced Monday, May 16, the new dates for zones 2 and 3, which concerns the four remaining regions in the north of Lomé.
Enrollment will therefore be held from May 20 to 27 in zone 2, and from June 05 to 12 in zone 3. The hours of activity remain the same, from 07 a.m to 4 p.m (UT).
“All election officials are requested to be in their assigned” locations in Zone 2 by Friday, May 19, 2023 at 07:00 a.m., the Commission further stated.
Last times, the operation had experienced many faults, especially the malfunctioning of machines and lack of equipment in zone 1 which includes the capital Lomé and its surroundings. Despite the extension of the operation, several eligible Togolese citizens remain without voter ID cards.
